About

Synopsis

"The Color Wheel" (2012) is an American indie comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed and co-starring Alex Ross Perry — who later made "Listen Up Philip" and "Golden Exits." Shot on grainy 16mm black and white, it carries that format's specific texture: rough, immediate, uncomfortable.

JR, an aspiring news anchor, just got dumped by the professor she was seeing. She needs her brother Colin to drive her to his place and help move her stuff out. The road trip through New England turns into the kind where you run into people you'd rather not see and say things you can't unsay.

A caustic sibling comedy with an odd intimacy and an ending that divides audiences. If Perry's later work landed for you, this is where the voice started. Stream "The Color Wheel" (2012) on iFILM.
