Synopsis
The Black Tulip (La Tulipe noire, 1964) is a Christian-Jaque swashbuckler you can watch online on iFILM, with a young Alain Delon in not one role but two. France is sliding toward revolution, and the countryside lives in fear of a masked outlaw who signs his raids with a black tulip.
By day the aristocrat Guillaume is a careless dandy; by night he's the elusive avenger who robs only the gluttonous nobility, which makes the peasants love him. Baron La Mouche is closing in, and during one clash he cuts a scar across the Tulip's face, planning to use it to unmask him. That's when a second man, identical to Guillaume, steps into the picture and flips the whole scheme. Virna Lisi and Akim Tamiroff round out the cast.
This is breezy old-school cloak-and-dagger fare: duels, horse chases, masquerade, and Delon trading scenes with himself. It doesn't reach for depth, but the pace and wink are real. For fans of 1960s adventure cinema, it lands clean. Stream The Black Tulip (1964) online on iFILM.
