Synopsis
Summer in February (2013) is a British period romance you can watch online on iFILM, drawn from real events in a Cornish artists' colony. On the eve of the First World War, the bohemian Lamorna set is upended by a love triangle.
The volatile painter Alfred Munnings (Dominic Cooper) falls for aspiring artist Florence Carter-Wood (Emily Browning), while estate manager Gilbert Evans (Dan Stevens) loves her quietly and without hope. What actually passed between the three was pieced together from the diaries and letters they left behind. Director Christopher Menaul films the Cornish coast as a character in its own right — cliffs, sea light and a war closing in. A slow, melancholy costume drama for anyone drawn to stories of art and badly timed love. Stream Summer in February online on iFILM.
