ReMastered: Who Shot the Sheriff

ReMastered: Who Shot the Sheriff (2018) is a documentary you can watch online on iFILM. Director Kief Davidson reconstructs the December 1976 assassination attempt on Bob Marley in Kingston, Jamaica — gunmen entered his rehearsal space days before a major free concert, wounding Marley and several members of his circle.

Nobody was ever officially charged. The film works through the competing theories: Jamaican political factions fighting for the election, Cold War interference, a CIA connection examined partly through former agent Philip Agee. Jimmy Cliff, George Harrison, Michael Manley, and Ronald Reagan all figure in the picture — on different sides of a political fault line that made Jamaica one of Washington's pressure points in the 1970s.
