Flee (Flugt, 2021) is a Danish animated documentary you can watch online on iFILM. Director Jonas Poher Rasmussen built the film around a single long-form confession from a man he had known since childhood.

Amin Nawabi is about to get married when he finally tells the truth he has carried for twenty years. As a boy, he left Kabul with his family after his father's death — moving through Russia, staying in illegal sub-lets in Moscow, crossing borders that shouldn't have been crossable — until he ended up in Denmark, alone, the rest of his family separated by the journey. Animation was chosen not for style but for cover: Amin's real face still needs protecting.
