Synopsis

Romanian gigolo Georges Iscovescu (Charles Boyer) is stranded in a Mexican border town, waiting on an immigration quota that moves at its own pace. The workaround: marry an American, cross over, disappear. Schoolteacher Emmy Brown (Olivia de Havilland) seems like the right mark. Paulette Goddard plays Anita, Georges' former partner, who has already run the same scheme.
