Synopsis

Anne is a respected advocacy lawyer who defends vulnerable kids in court, with a doctor husband, twin daughters and a house that looks like a brochure. Then Peter's teenage son Gustav comes to live with them. What begins as friction curdles into an affair Anne can't stop, and every lie she tells digs the hole deeper.
Trine Dyrholm plays it without a shred of self-pity — her character sees the line and steps over it anyway. The film won the World Cinema Dramatic Audience Award at Sundance and was Denmark's submission for the Academy Awards. Adult, uncomfortable, and not interested in letting anyone off easy.
