Synopsis
Queen of France (2027) is a historical adventure drama from Russian director Aleksey Sidorov, and you can watch it online on iFILM. In 11th-century Rus, Grand Prince Yaroslav the Wise pledges his favorite daughter Anne to Henry I, King of the Franks, then sends her across the continent to a husband she has never met.
Guarding her on that road is Ostromir, a warrior who once served in the Byzantine emperor's Varangian guard. Ambushes on forest trails, foreign courts, mile after mile of open steppe. The closer they ride to Henry's castle, the harder it gets for the bodyguard and the bride-to-be to ignore what has grown between them — a love with no future. Ekaterina Voronina plays Anne, with Sergey Bezrukov, Viktor Dobronravov and Aleksey Kravchenko.
The story draws on the real Anne of Kiev, who became Queen of France around 1051 and signed documents in her own hand when most monarchs could not. Sidorov, the filmmaker behind Brigada and T-34, brings that same scale to a medieval journey. A solid pick if you like costume epics with a real route, real danger and a heroine you can trace in the chronicles. Stream Queen of France (2027) online on iFILM.
