Synopsis
Sashka has no friends at school, so he tells his secrets to a smart speaker. Magic Lamp (2027) is a family fantasy adventure you can watch online on iFILM, where one lonely boy's stubborn belief in miracles ends up summoning a real genie out of a jug.
When a sandstorm in Uzbekistan sweeps his parents into a hidden magical city, they become prisoners of Shah Zaman. To bring them home, Sashka teams up with a quick-witted genie and Alisa, his smart speaker come to life. Flying-carpet duels, a hot-air-balloon ride, chases across endless steppe and a long trek through the desert all stand between him and his family — and so does the scheming sorcerer Yusuf.
A co-production of Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Uzbekistan, the film is directed by Pavel Ivanov and features Pavel Derevyanko, Ravshana Kurkova and Tikhon Zhiznevsky. The mood is an old Eastern fairy tale rewired for now: Arabian Nights motifs bump into a voice assistant, and that odd mix is exactly what makes it click with kids.
