Synopsis
Turkish comedian and filmmaker Yılmaz Erdoğan wrote, directed, and stars in "Jolly Life" (Neşeli Hayat, 2009) — stream online on iFILM.
Riza is an immigrant caught between two places that neither fully let go nor fully let him in. He takes a seasonal job as a mall Santa Claus, a role built around performing happiness on demand. Erdoğan's film finds something quietly true in that premise: sometimes going through the motions of cheer turns out not so different from the real thing.
