Aziz Özay is the mayor of Hakkari, a small town in eastern Turkey, and he runs it the way he tends his famous orchard: every branch in its place, every fruit accounted for. His three daughters are no exception. They rarely leave the house, suitors don't knock, and the local men are simply too afraid to try. The film is built around that gap — between Aziz's iron grip and the lives the women might have if they got any room to breathe.
