Laurel Canyon (Season 1)
Everything they touched turned to music.
Synopsis
"Laurel Canyon" (2020) is a two-part docuseries by director Alison Ellwood that you can watch online on iFILM. In the late 1960s, a hillside neighborhood just above Hollywood became an unlikely hub: Joni Mitchell, The Doors, Frank Zappa, The Eagles, and Alice Cooper were neighbors, and the music they made there reshaped a decade.
Ellwood brings together fresh interviews with Neil Young, Jackson Browne, Graham Nash, Linda Ronstadt, Don Henley, Bonnie Raitt, David Crosby, and Roger McGuinn. The strength of the film is its density of testimony — people who actually lived in those houses, borrowed those guitars, and still remember the specific songs that came out of it.
