Synopsis
La verità sta in cielo (2016) is an Italian political thriller directed by Roberto Faenza, available to watch online on iFILM. In the summer of 1983, fifteen-year-old Emanuela Orlandi — daughter of a Vatican employee — walked out of her Rome apartment and was never seen again. The case remains officially open.
A British journalist, played by Riccardo Scamarcio, picks up the frozen trail decades later and keeps finding it pointing toward places that prefer not to be looked at. Faenza built the film on declassified documents and testimony gathered across years; in one of the film's most striking choices, Emanuela's actual brother and sister — Pietro Orlandi and Elettra Orlandi — appear in the cast.
