"Born in the USSR: 28 Up" (2012) is a documentary you can watch online on iFILM, the fourth installment in director Sergei Miroshnichenko's long-running observational series. The same group of subjects was first filmed at age seven. Then at fourteen. Then twenty-one. Now they are twenty-eight, living across different countries and, in some cases, different continents.

The series revisits every seven years, and each chapter arrives with different weight — new cities, new responsibilities, faces that have changed. The first three parts found audiences well beyond Russia, with screenings in France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Scandinavia. What holds everyone together on screen is not a shared language or a shared country, but a shared starting point: a state that ceased to exist before its children fully grew up.
