The Chosen One (Избранный, 2025) is a Russian comedy-drama series you can watch online on iFILM. Oleg Tyapin spent his career as an unremarkable engineer at a research institute — nobody's idea of a future lawmaker. Then life had other plans, and he ended up a deputy in the State Duma.

The series follows Tyapin as he stumbles through a job he was never prepared for: navigating political colleagues, constituent demands, and a personal life that refuses to cooperate. He makes mistakes, fixes some of them, and slowly figures out who he actually is under the pressure. The show works because Tyapin never becomes a hero — he just gradually stops being afraid.
