The coach gathers boys used to coming up short and gives them a reason bigger than the scoreboard: a man who won't be around much longer. What follows is the kind of underdog stretch that sounds made up — kids picking off the favorites one by one, riding the streak to the 2002 Little League World Series and a finish that ESPN kept replaying for years. Luke Wilson, Greg Kinnear, Sarah Gadon and Molly Parker fill out the adults, with Ty Roberts directing.
