Synopsis
Ekh, Yablochko, Kudy Kotishsya (1926) is an adventure drama directed by Leonid Obolensky and Mikhail Doller that you can watch online on iFILM. It opens in German-occupied Odessa in 1918, amid the looting of anarchist and bandit gangs.
Petrus, a sailor cut off from his Red Army unit, rescues a young woman named Marusya from the bandit terror. Years pass and the country settles into peaceful life. The former sailor, now a Red commander, and Marusya, now a schoolteacher, cross paths by chance in a Moscow café — both drawn in by the old tune "Eh, Yablochko" that once played under gunfire. The title comes from a popular folk ditty of the Civil War years. Varvara Popova and Pyotr Repnin appear in the cast. Stream the film online on iFILM.
