Synopsis
Rewind This! (2013) is an American documentary you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Josh Johnson. The film charts VHS from the late-70s format wars through the 1980s explosion that put a video store on every strip mall, then traces its decline as DVD arrived — told through the people who lived inside that culture and still do.
Johnson interviews filmmaker Atom Egoyan, Cassandra Peterson (Elvira, Mistress of the Dark), Troma co-founder Lloyd Kaufman, Frank Henenlotter, Charles Band, and a sprawling cast of collectors who still own basements full of plastic.
