Emma's father, a prominent politician, brings in Jasmin Braun — a memory specialist played by Alexandra Maria Lara. Her job is not to catch anyone lying but to reach back into what eight ordinary people encoded without realising it, because the key to finding Emma is buried somewhere in those fragmented recollections.
