Synopsis
Green Mayor (Zelyony Mer, 2021) is a Russian dramedy you can watch online on iFILM. Kirill comes back from the capital to his small factory town and barely recognizes it — the river runs foul with industrial waste, the woods are vanishing, and illegal dumps creep along the edges of town.
The aging mayor has given up and just wants out; the real power belongs to Zuyev, the plant owner who likes things exactly as they are. So Kirill and two friends from childhood try the legal route: they register a "green" party and put up their own candidate for the mayor's office. Money, apathetic neighbors and decades of habit all stand in the way.
