Synopsis
The Young Offenders (2018) is an Irish crime comedy you can watch online on iFILM. It follows two inseparable goofballs from Cork, Conor and Jock, who can't stay out of trouble — dodging school, dodging the law, and cooking up one harebrained scheme after another.
The show grew out of the 2016 feature, in which the pair pedalled a hundred miles on stolen bikes chasing a seven-million-euro brick of cocaine while the police trailed behind. From there it settles into their teenage daily life: rough family situations, first crushes, mortifying stunts, and a friendship that somehow keeps them both afloat. Director Peter Foott carries over the same scruffy charm.
The humour is crude and very Irish, thick Cork accents and all, but underneath the messing about sits a surprisingly warm coming-of-age story. Fans of Derry Girls and Bottoms-style chaos will feel right at home. Stream The Young Offenders (2018) online on iFILM.
