Synopsis
The Priest and the Nanny-Goat (1941) is a ten-minute animated short you can watch online on iFILM. Director Lev Atamanov builds it from an old Armenian folk tale about a greedy priest and the goat who outwits him.
It predates the feature-length fairy tales that would later make Atamanov famous, yet his signature is already here — a clean moral, sharp little characters, a wink of irony. The plot is plain village justice: greed gets its comeuppance from the least expected corner. Worth a look if early Soviet animation or Caucasian folklore is your thing.
