Synopsis

Mac's heist goes badly enough that staying in the country stops being an option. He lands in a tiny reef town in Far North Queensland — the kind of place where everyone knows everyone and the arrival of a stranger is an event. The local church is expecting a new reverend. Mac figures it is as good a cover as any, and throws himself into the role with a dedication that surprises even him.
The Peacock and Stan Australia co-production shoots on the actual Queensland coast, giving the fish-out-of-water premise a genuinely remote backdrop. What makes it work is Donnell's performance: a man who has spent his life avoiding accountability slowly discovers what it feels like to matter to a community.
