Frostbitten (Otmorozhennye, 2023) is a Russian crime comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Late nineties: four small-time gangsters drive out to collect a debt and, through sheer dumb luck, get sealed inside a cryo-chamber — only to thaw out in 2022. Crimson blazers, pagers, street codes: all of it two decades past its sell-by date.

Phil, Chuck, Whizz and Massa step into a Moscow that no longer runs on the old rules. Smartphones, food delivery, kids who have aged into their fathers' equals, girlfriends grown old without them. One has to get acquainted with a son all over again. Another tries to win back a woman who long since moved on. Underneath it all sits a single goal: revenge on the boss who froze them. Yan Tsapnik, Svetlana Ivanova and Vlad Konoplyov head the cast.

Director Anya Mirokhina keeps the fish-out-of-water gags tethered to something sharper — a satire of two eras colliding, more about the awkwardness of coming back than about the crime.
