Synopsis
Gloss (Блеск, 2023) is a Russian crime comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Anya works as an assistant at a pricey St. Petersburg event agency for almost nothing — the real pay is the access it gives her to the city's glittering high society.
At one of those parties she meets the heir to a noble Ottoman family, in town to find himself a Russian wife. Anya's own bloodline is complicated too: her con-artist father is locked up, and only serious money can buy him out. So she commits a theft, lifting a precious necklace from Serkan's collection — and discovers almost at once that the stones are fake, and the sultan's title is fake right along with them. Serkan is a swindler too, just one with charm you can't quite refuse. Caught out on the forgery, the Turk takes Anya on as a partner, and soon, with her freed father in tow, the three of them set about fleecing the rich of St. Petersburg.
Aleksandra Bortich plays Anya with zero trace of the wronged victim — she's a gambler who develops a real taste for the grift. Kirill Kyaro supplies the polish and the lies, and Larisa Dolina adds her own sparkle on screen. Mind the 18+ rating; it earns it.
