Synopsis
Bookish (2025) is a British detective series you can watch online on iFILM. In bombed-out London of 1946, with crime spilling into every empty lot, Gabriel Book runs a cramped antiquarian bookshop and solves murders using the thousands of volumes only he can navigate.
Book carries a letter from Winston Churchill that opens any crime scene to him, plus a near-total recall of everything he's ever read. Where the police hit a dead end, he remembers the right page — an old treatise, a forgotten footnote, a single line that snaps the whole case into focus. The wallpaper shop next door belongs to his wife Trotti, quick-witted and always game for trouble; their marriage hides a secret that, in post-war Britain, could land them in prison. Into the shop comes a young assistant with a murky past, one of several strays Book quietly takes under his wing.
