Red 5 (Season 1)

Red 5 (Krasnyy 5, 2024) is a Russian action comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Bekeshev, a special-services agent who can take down any enemy on his own, botches one mission and gets shown the door.

Civilian life does not suit him at all. His runaway paranoia keeps dragging him into one ridiculous mess after another, until his old skills are suddenly in demand again. His former boss recruits him into an outfit that hunts down escapees from Soviet-era KGB labs — criminals walking around with genuine superpowers. His new partner is a brilliant but wildly over-the-top hacker who goes by Granny. The mismatched pair now has to save the country from supervillains while constantly clawing their way out of trouble they mostly caused themselves.

Director Yevgeny Shelyakin keeps the whole thing loose and self-mocking, riffing on the superhero playbook with a local accent. Denis Shvedov, Gosha Kutsenko and Roman Kurtsyn head the cast.
