The Law of the Taiga (Zakon Taygi, 2024) is a Russian drama series you can watch online on iFILM. Colonel Nikolai Ustyuzhanin gave thirty years to military counterintelligence — and at the end of that road, his own people set him up. Broken by the betrayal, he retreats into the remote forests of Karelia, far from the life he knew.

A quiet retirement isn't in the cards. The taiga runs on its own rules: treachery goes unforgiven here, and people live by an unwritten code the locals simply call the law of the taiga. Little by little Ustyuzhanin takes that code to heart and steps up to defend it, turning from a fugitive into a man who guards a land that was never his and the rules that hold it together. His past, though, refuses to let go and follows him even this far north.

It's a sturdy crime drama about honour, betrayal and a second chance, set against harsh northern wilderness. Aleksandr Dyachenko, Evgeny Telezhkin and Dmitry Murashev lead the cast.
