Synopsis
Varyagi (2024) is a Russian crime series you can watch online on iFILM. The town of Gorovets sits in the Pskov region, thirty kilometers from the Latvian border. One day, half the leadership of the local police is arrested all at once.
The reason is a cement plant — the one genuinely profitable business in town. As turnover grew, the plant became a prize, and the fight over it climbed all the way to the federal level. Moscow sends in outsiders to clean up the mess and take over the orphaned department: Major Sergey Malakhov steps in as chief, while captains Vadim Gruzdev and Ivan Shadrin run the criminal investigation unit. Newcomers in a closed little town where everyone holds a stake in that plant.
The show trades in the familiar texture of the provincial procedural: cramped offices, entrenched local clans and outsiders nobody wants around.
