Synopsis
Pale Mountains (Brennero, 2024) is an Italian crime series you can watch online on iFILM. It plays out in Bolzano, a South Tyrol town split down the middle — half its people speak German, the other half Italian. A serial killer exploits exactly that fault line, picking off German-speaking victims one by one.
Inspector Paolo hunted this man once before. The chase cost him a leg and the woman he loved, and the "Monster of Bolzano" was never caught. Now the killings have started again. Paolo is pulled back in, this time alongside Eva, a young and stubborn assistant prosecutor whose own father once worked the same case. She has something to prove, and failure isn't on the table.
What carries the show is friction: two clashing cultures inside one city, and two investigators who can barely stand each other yet have to share the work.
