About

Synopsis

"The Alfred Hitchcock Hour" (1962–1965) is an American anthology series you can watch online on iFILM — the follow-up to "Alfred Hitchcock Presents," with Hitchcock himself stepping in front of the camera before and after every episode to deliver a characteristically sardonic preview.

Three seasons, sixty-one episodes, each self-contained. A murder. A trap. A con. Endings that don't always land on the side of justice. The directing roster was wide: William Friedkin took the chair here before he made "The Exorcist"; Sidney Pollack worked multiple episodes in the early seasons, years before his own filmography would define a career. Gena Rowlands and Anne Francis appeared on screen. The format allowed the stories to range from taut suspense to dry dark comedy, and it was Hitchcock's framing monologue that provided the connective tissue.

He directed only a handful of episodes himself. What he supplied was tone — the twist calibrated for maximum discomfort, the crime treated with deadpan appreciation. Stream every episode of "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour" on iFILM.
