Synopsis
Klitschko (2011) is a German-Ukrainian documentary you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Sebastian Dehnhardt over three-plus years of filming. The film runs 116 minutes and traces the full arc of two brothers from Kiev who ended up holding nearly every major title in the heavyweight division at the same time.
Vitali and Wladimir walk through the Soviet sports system they came up in, the amateur circuit, the move to Germany, and the decade-long climb to the top. The filmmakers got the brothers' parents on camera for the first time. Other voices include Lennox Lewis, Henry Maske, and Don King. Home archive footage and footage from inside fight-week preparation appear here that hadn't been seen publicly before.
The film works less as a boxing chronicle than as a study of two people who have spent their careers accountable to each other — even when that gets complicated. Stream Klitschko (2011) online on iFILM.
