In Whose Name?

In Whose Name? (2025) is a music documentary you can watch online on iFILM. In 2018, Ye — then still known as Kanye West — invited 18-year-old art school student Nico Ballesteros to become his shadow. Not a publicist, not an official biographer. Just someone with a camera, always in the room. Over six years, Ballesteros shot more than 3,000 hours of footage.

What emerged is not a fan document. Ye appears at stadium peaks and in the middle of personal implosions — Kim Kardashian, Drake, LeBron James, Elon Musk, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Marilyn Manson, and Anna Wintour all drift through the frame. But the film keeps returning to the space around Ye: the chaos that creativity lives inside, and what happens when the two stop being distinguishable.

Where Jeen-yuhs (Netflix, 2022) charted the ascent, this film documents a different chapter — louder, messier, and at times genuinely unsettling. Ballesteros does not editorialise.
