Synopsis
The World of Us (우리들, 2016) is a Korean coming-of-age drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Yun Ga-eun. Ninety-five minutes. One school year, two girls, and the casual cruelty of not belonging.
Sun is the kid her class has decided to exclude. Over summer break she meets Jia, a new girl who doesn't know the established order — and for a few weeks, things are different. When September comes, the school's social machinery reasserts itself. Yun Ga-eun shot the film at eye level with mostly non-professional child actors; exclusion here feels like physics rather than drama — matter-of-fact, low volume, all the more precise for it. The debut feature picked up the New Currents Award at Busan International Film Festival.
