Synopsis
Cohen and Tate (1989) — watch online on iFILM. Written and directed by Eric Red, this tight crime thriller starts with a nine-year-old boy named Travis who witnessed something he wasn't supposed to see. Two hitmen are now driving him from Oklahoma to Houston. He probably won't survive the trip.
Cohen (Roy Scheider) is a seasoned professional who prefers silence and precision. Tate (Adam Baldwin) is brutal, loud, and happy to prove it. They despise each other, and Travis (Harley Cross) picks up on that fast. For the length of one highway drive, the kid systematically plays one man against the other — not out of cleverness so much as desperation. The dynamic flips completely: the child is the one running the interrogation.
Confined almost entirely to a moving car, the film uses the tight space to real effect. Scheider does most of his work without raising his voice. Stream Cohen and Tate (1989) online on iFILM.
