Instead she picks up the .45 left by her second attacker and starts walking the streets at night, dressed to draw attention. Every man who moves on her gets shot. Zoë Lund plays Thana with an almost supernatural stillness, turning a revenge story into something closer to a dark fable. Ferrara shot entirely on location in early-1980s New York, and the city itself — raw, grimy, unpredictable — functions as a third character.
