Synopsis
St. Agatha (2018) is an American horror film you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Darren Lynn Bousman of the Saw franchise. Set in 1950s rural Georgia, it traps a pregnant con woman inside a convent that turns out to be something far worse than a refuge.
Agatha is running from a bad life and a worse situation when she finds the convent. The nuns are welcoming — warmly, pointedly welcoming. She soon figures out why: silence is mandatory, questions are punished, and leaving is not an option. What started as a place to safely have her baby becomes a place she needs to escape from before it is too late. Sabrina Kern carries the whole film, rarely off-screen, cycling through fear, defiance and desperation as the rules of the convent reveal themselves one by one.
Bousman's approach here leans into institutional dread rather than gore — the horror comes from claustrophobia, enforced compliance, and the slow collapse of any illusion of safety. Fans of religious-cult horror in the vein of Rosemary's Baby will find this one genuinely unsettling. Stream St. Agatha online on iFILM.
