Synopsis
Call the Midwife (2012), Season 13 is a BBC drama you can watch online on iFILM — eight episodes set in 1969, when more babies than ever are born in hospital, yet Poplar holds its ground thanks to the home births the Nonnatus House sisters still champion.
The big thread is renewal: a new training scheme brings four pupil midwives through the door, and much of the season follows them toward their final exams. Around that, the stories pile up. Trixie makes a grave error on the job, the team rallies for a Biafran refugee family, and Nancy digs into her own family's past while the world watches the moon landings. Sister Julienne supports an expectant mother with cerebral palsy; a day at the seaside turns into disaster for the Turners and puts May's place with them at risk.
Drawn from Jennifer Worth's memoirs, the show reads the end of the sixties through its midwives, with medicine, politics and daily life braided together.
