In 1950's London, they delivered hope for all.
Synopsis
Call the Midwife (2012), Season 7 is the BBC period drama you can watch online on iFILM — eight episodes set in a late-1950s East End that is starting to disappear. Slum clearances are tearing down the old streets, and tower blocks rise where families once crowded.
A new midwife arrives at Nonnatus House. Lucille Anderson is good at the work and meets ugly prejudice for it when she cares for a sick young mother. The season widens what the nurses face: leprosy, a stroke patient threatened with eviction, Huntington's chorea, Sister Monica Joan's failing eyesight and cataract surgery. Dr Turner and Nurse Crane scramble over a possible smallpox case, Trixie and Christopher feel the strain, and Shelagh's decision to hire an au pair upends the Turner household.
Heidi Thomas builds each episode on real medical history rather than easy sentiment. Season 7 leans harder into change — the neighbourhood, the profession, the women themselves. Stream Call the Midwife Season 7 online on iFILM.
