Synopsis
Murdoch Mysteries Season 11 (2017) is eighteen episodes you can watch online on iFILM, and it opens on several fronts at once: Murdoch is jailed and fighting to prove his innocence, Ogden has been kidnapped, Brackenreid has vanished, and the constables walk into an ambush wrapped in top-level corruption.
Once the team digs out, the year becomes a parade of cases stitched to real names of the period. A recording device built by Alexander Graham Bell helps crack a murder at a dinner honoring Helen Keller. A surgeon runs reckless organ-transplant experiments. President Theodore Roosevelt slips into Canada for a hunting trip and ends up the prey. There's a weeping statue of the Virgin Mary, a chess tournament with a dead Russian master, and a poisoning at a cooking contest that drags in Crabtree and Margaret Brackenreid. Meanwhile Detective Watts pulls at a mystery inside his own family.
CBC still builds the show from Maureen Jennings' novels, and this eleventh run keeps the usual mix of ingenuity and humour while leaning into the characters' personal lives toward the finale.
