Synopsis
Strike (2017), Season 1 — watch online on iFILM: three episodes adapting J.K. Rowling's crime novel, published under the name Robert Galbraith.
The season covers his first case. Cormoran Strike, an Afghanistan veteran who lost a leg, runs a barely-solvent agency on Denmark Street when supermodel Lula Landry falls from her balcony. The police call it suicide; her brother won't accept that. With temp secretary Robin Ellacott beside him, Strike works through the dead woman's circle — family, friends, her driver, shop clerks — and slowly drags into view what London's detectives chose to overlook. The nearer the answer, the more dangerous it gets for both of them.
Tom Burke plays Strike heavy and guarded, no gloss; Holliday Grainger makes Robin the story's second lead rather than set dressing. It's a small-scale, unhurried mystery for viewers who like a case cracked by thinking instead of car chases. Stream Strike Season 1 online on iFILM.
