Synopsis
Strike (2017), Season 5 is a BBC detective drama you can watch online on iFILM — four episodes built around a cold case. Cormoran Strike is back in Cornwall when a woman named Anna asks him to find her mother, Dr Margot Bamborough, who vanished without trace in 1974.
The case has sat unsolved for nearly fifty years, and that's exactly why he takes it. Witnesses have aged, misremember, or lie outright, and the paper trail went cold decades ago. Piecing it together from scraps, Strike and Robin Ellacott catch the scent of a psychopath who stalked London in the seventies. The hunt pulls them into the city's underside, forces a bargain with a convicted killer behind bars, and more than once puts Robin directly in harm's way.
The season adapts Troubled Blood, the novel Robert Galbraith — J.K. Rowling's pen name — wrote as a slow excavation of one missing life. It runs on patience rather than chases. Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger stay as grounded as ever, while the old case quietly erodes the detectives' own private lives. Stream Strike Season 5 online on iFILM.
