Synopsis
The Incredible Journey (1963) is a Disney family adventure you can watch online on iFILM. Three pets — an aging bull terrier, a young Labrador retriever and a Siamese cat — are left with a family friend while their owners travel abroad. Certain they have been abandoned, the animals set off to find their way back home.
Ahead of them lie two hundred miles of Canadian wilderness. The trio must cross rushing rivers and face hunger, porcupines, a bear and the first bite of autumn cold, with no human to help. The old dog steers by instinct, the Labrador hunts and guards, and the headstrong cat repeatedly saves the group with sheer cunning. There are no talking animals and no CGI here — just trained pets, real landscapes and a narrator's calm voice.
The film is adapted from Sheila Burnford's 1961 novel of the same name, which Disney later remade as Homeward Bound.
