Nuns on the Run

Nuns on the Run (1990) is a British crime comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Two London crooks, Brian and Charlie, have been dreaming of getting out of the game for years. The problem is that their boss Casey plans to have them killed the moment their last job is done.

Once they catch wind of the double-cross, the pair grab the loot from a robbery against a gang of Chinese drug dealers and bolt. Everyone comes after them at once: Casey's men, the dealers they fleeced, the police, and Brian's furious girlfriend. The only place nobody will look is a convent that happens to be training new nuns. To stay hidden, two grown men pull on habits and convince the Sister Superior that they're devout sisters — a performance that gets shakier by the hour.

Monty Python's Eric Idle and Robbie Coltrane make a terrific pair of bumblers, tangling themselves up in theology and nearly blowing their cover at every turn. It was directed by Jonathan Lynn, co-creator of the satire Yes Minister. This is pure cross-dressing farce for anyone who likes their British humor broad and unpretentious.
