Synopsis

The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959) is a British horror mystery from Hammer Film Productions you can watch online on iFILM. Director Terence Fisher brought Arthur Conan Doyle's most famous novel to the screen with Peter Cushing as Sherlock Holmes and Christopher Lee as the young heir to the Baskerville estate — a family haunted by an ancient, blood-soaked curse.

Sir Henry Baskerville arrives at the ancestral hall on the Devon moors and quickly learns the legend is very much alive. Something enormous stalks the fog-drenched bogs at night. Holmes and Dr. Watson (André Morell) head south to find out whether what's out there is beast, man, or something no law can touch.

Hammer's version is darker than most adaptations of the story. Fisher shoots the moors like a nightmare, and Cushing plays Holmes as a precise, unshakeable man of action — not the fireside eccentric of popular imagination. It's the rare Gothic horror that holds its mystery tightly until the end. Stream The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959) online on iFILM.
