Synopsis

As it turns out, they also share one man. Both are dating the charming Michael, and both are furious to discover the other exists. Before they can finish clawing at each other, though, Michael vanishes without a trace, leaving the women holding his very large legal problems. Their dreamboat was a double agent, and now the CIA, the KGB, and the police are all on the trail of the hapless pair. To stay alive, the sworn rivals have to team up and chase the runaway clear across the country.
The pairing of Shelley Long and Bette Midler is the real engine here: their bickering is funnier than any chase scene. With Peter Coyote along for the ride and a wickedly dry George Carlin in the mix, the spy mix-up turns into an eighties road farce.
