Prophecy
She lives. Don't move. Don't breathe. There's nowhere to run. She will find you.
Synopsis
Prophecy (1979) is an eco-horror creature feature you can watch online on iFILM — a solid slice of nature-strikes-back monster cinema. Dr. Robert Verne and his wife Maggie head into the Maine woods to settle a land dispute between a logging firm and a Native American tribe. The real trouble runs deeper than paperwork.
Mercury runoff from the mill has poisoned the river, and the local wildlife is mutating. Something massive and furious prowls the forest — a deformed grizzly the size of a truck, hunting anyone who wanders too far in. Talia Shire and Robert Foxworth play the couple caught at the center of it, with a young Armand Assante as the tribal leader.
Behind the camera sits John Frankenheimer, the man who made The Manchurian Candidate, which is a strange luxury for a cheap mutant-bear horror. The effects look quaint today, yet the film's environmental rage hasn't aged a day. Pure comfort food for fans of vintage creature features. Stream Prophecy (1979) online on iFILM.
