The Son (Seasons 1–2)

The Son (2017) is an AMC drama series you can watch online on iFILM. Pierce Brosnan stars as Eli McCullough, a Texas patriarch whose empire was built on cattle, oil and a great deal of blood.

The show runs on two clocks at once. In 1849 a Comanche band takes thirteen-year-old Eli captive and slowly remakes the white boy into one of their own. Sixty years on, a gray-haired Eli rules a sprawling South Texas ranch just as border conflict ignites between Anglo landowners and Mexican families like the Garcias. The two eras keep answering each other: what the plains did to the boy shapes the ruthless man he becomes.

It is adapted from Philipp Meyer's novel, a Pulitzer finalist. Two seasons aired on AMC, and the result is a slow, hard-edged Western with no heroic myths about how Texas fortunes were made.
