Synopsis
Jackie & Ryan (2014) is an American romance from director Ami Canaan Mann that you can watch online on iFILM. Ryan rides freight trains across the country with a guitar on his back; Jackie is raising a daughter and fighting a custody case. Their paths cross in a small Utah town.
Ben Barnes plays the drifting musician who earns his way through songs and never stays anywhere long. Katherine Heigl is the single mother whose old life has fallen apart, leaving every day about holding on to her child. Something gentle grows between them, but the open question hangs over it all: does he stay or hit the road again.
This is a quiet indie with no loud twists, carried largely by its folk music, which Barnes performs himself; country singer Ryan Bingham turns up on screen too.
