Synopsis
Fail Safe (2000) is a Cold War thriller you can watch online on iFILM. A glitch in the U.S. defense computer sends a wing of nuclear bombers toward Moscow with orders that cannot be recalled — and only a few hours stand between a mistake and catastrophe.
The film aired live on CBS, shot in stark black and white in real time with no second takes, and that tension bleeds through. President (Richard Dreyfuss) works the phone to the Kremlin while generals in the war room argue over acceptable losses and the crews fly on, locked out of radio contact.
